Trip to Isola
Steampunk and colonialism are the main background of this chamber larp. It’s taking place in an alternative world, on the technological level of Victorian England.
The mighty European empire and its neighbour Galatea are competing for the newly discovered lands – Islands and New continent. Evorians already claimed part of it as their colony, but they’re having problems with indigenous Hari people, pirates and with Galatean spies. Courageous passengers and rough crew will board the airship Lost soul and weave a web of intrigues, discover secrets, establish relationships and live through the action in this adventurous environment.
That’s the claim on the website of HRAJ LARP, under which’s mandate Skadi presented this larp.
But a steampunk airship! There aren’t many more interesting locations for a game – at least from my point of view. It’s true that the game took place at a Scout base, which doesn’t even remotely look like an airship, but hey, at least we had a place to play it.
Post processing proved to be quite challenging. Each room had a different type of lighting and when I balanced the color to one room, it was always too orange or too violet for the other room – it is even more visible when you see into both rooms in the same picture. I’ve tried to fix it in the post-production. I’m not entirely happy with the results, but it’s much better than without it. I just hope that it won’t be too distracting to the viewers.
